in the city

Situated at less then 200 meters from the junction of tangenziale of Naples, Sudcantieri is close to city and it is easy to reach with the rail stations of Cumana and Metro. In the city there is much to visit: the historic center of Naples with the ancient churches show the history of city: from Santa Chiara to San Domenico, from San Paolo to San Lorenzo Maggiore, from San Gaetano to the Cathedral with the striking Chapel of San Gennaro. It is important to visit the famous “underground Naples” to get back in the past and following the trails of the old streets. Getting toward the sea, the tourist can see the Maschio Angioino Castle, known also as Castel Nuovo, that appears in its great cylindrical towers. Close to it, in Santa Lucia quarter, there is the symbolic monument of Naples, the Castello dell’ovo, located on the little island of Megaride – first settlement of the ancient greeks – from here starts the seafront of Caracciolo street. At short distance there is the Villa Comunale and Mergellina, with its touristic harbour, where the fishermen sell their goods: fishes, crustacean and shellfishes. Crossing the southern side of coast, visitors find the famous hill of Posillipo, Marechiaro and the little island of Nisida, that separates the Gulfs of Naples and Pozzuoli with its bay. Finally the museums: the National archaeological Museum and the Museum of Capodimonte, that offer the sight oftheir beautiful art collections.
